After you have collected your berry crop, you need to properly care for the bushes.

If you carry out all the necessary procedures, then next year you will be able to collect even more sweet and large raspberries.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert at the online publication BelNovosti, an agronomist and landscape designer, recommends concentrating on three important actions.

What do they consist of?

Inspect the bushes

You will probably be able to find branches that have clearly outlived their usefulness. They will simply take away the raspberry's nutrients without producing a harvest. It is important to remove them.

Therefore, you need to remove all branches that seem weak and unviable to you. Do not delay pruning: it is best to carry out the procedure immediately after fruiting.

Watering

Proper application of moisture is the key to a quality harvest next year. Water is applied once every week and a half. Step back forty centimeters from the trunk and start watering.

Two buckets will be enough for young raspberries. For older bushes, the quantity should be increased to four.

Nutrients

It is important to replenish the balance of nutrients with the help of fertilizers. To do this, add one hundred grams of ash per bush. You can also feed with compost and humus.

The amount of fertilizer is five kilograms per bush.
