The strawberry season has come to an end. For caring gardeners, this means only one thing – the bushes need to be prepared for next year.

In such a situation, summer residents, as a rule, have a reason for an argument - some believe that caring for a strawberry plantation involves pruning, while others are categorically against this procedure.

The latter should be acknowledged to be right in this matter – professionals in plant growing have come to the conclusion that pruning bushes to the very roots is just a waste of time.

In this case, it is worth starting pruning at the beginning of August, choosing a cool and cloudy day for this, but without precipitation.

All you need for pruning are disinfected scissors.

By the way, do not try to cut the leaves off at the root. Instead, leave stumps that are about 8-10 cm high.
