Many gardeners do not recommend planting thuja on their land. It depletes the soil and, according to some, is associated with the world of the dead.
On the other hand, thuja has useful qualities. It kills pests and fungi in the soil. Its fragrant needles have a beneficial effect on breathing. Also, thuja can serve as a good fence.
Some believe that thuja attracts illness and bad luck. That is why it is not placed near the house. If you plant it in the yard, it will grow big and strong and take the life of its owner. A young girl who plants thuja will not find her fiancé and will not have children. Thuja is often seen in cemeteries.
Even if you don’t believe in these fairy tales, it’s still better not to plant thuja on your plot.
It will clog the soil, suppress other plants and overshadow the area. In addition, its roots can damage the foundation of the house and garden paths. And for fruit trees, it is a dangerous neighbor.
Thuja roots are located close to the surface, so other plants will not have enough space and nutrition near it. Fruit trees can get sick or die from such a neighborhood.
The pear tree suffers especially. Its leaves and fruits develop black spots, and the yield decreases.
Thujas grow tall and create shade that is not suitable for some plants. The tree also has strong roots that can destroy paths and foundations.
Therefore, it is better not to grow thuja on the site to avoid serious problems.
