If you follow a few rules in growing strawberries, the berries are guaranteed to be sweet.
ADVICE.NEWS shared tips on growing strawberries.
If you want to get exactly these berries, provide the plants with sun and water.
First, you need to understand that strawberries, like most berry bushes, love good, fertile, loose, slightly acidic soil; they need a lot of sun and water, not only during the ripening period of the berries, but also during harvesting.
Potassium sulfate is usually applied in liquid form before planting, young bushes are watered in furrows with a solution of potassium monophosphate, and during flowering and ripening of berries, you can go over the leaves with liquid foliar fertilizer "Folirus" with the same substance.
The taste of strawberries sometimes depends greatly on the quality of the soil - this can be verified by comparing berries of the same variety grown in different areas. In one soil, strawberries will be sweet as honey, and in another - with a barely noticeable presence of sweetness.
The soil should be moderately moist with a small amount of sand or clay.
The beds are loosened and dug over, the necessary fertilizers are added and they are watered diligently. Make sure that the soil pH is close to neutral (i.e. not less than 5.5 and not more than 8).
The soil should also have a high humus content (about 3%).
