How to water tomatoes correctly in hot weather: a common mistake of summer residents, due to which you can be left without a harvest

The soil in which tomato bushes grow needs to be periodically moistened.

Regular watering with sufficient volume of liquid is a condition that must be met.

Ignoring the rule can lead to a lack of moisture, and therefore to poor fruit formation. This means that the yield of the garden crop will be low.

But problems can also arise with an abundance of liquid.

In hot periods, tomatoes need to be watered more often than usual. Not once a week, but once every two days. Usually, you have to spend about half a bucket of water on each plant.

However, you need to focus not so much on the calendar and the volume of liquid, but on the condition of the soil. The soil cover should not remain dry for a long time.

A common mistake of summer residents

Some gardeners miss the moment. As a result, the soil dries out a lot.

This situation can be corrected. But only by gradual watering with the initial use of relatively small volumes of liquid (about a liter per bush).

But often summer residents make a grave mistake: they over-moisten dry soil.

This is not a good idea. A large amount of water entering the soil at once will not help solve the problem.

On the contrary, abundant watering in this case will greatly harm the plant. There is a risk of losing the harvest completely.
