After picking beets, you need to take into account only two important rules.
Correct picking is the key to an excellent harvest. If the procedure is performed incorrectly, then you should not even dream of strong and healthy root crops.
It is not enough to simply move the seedlings to a new place. You should also take into account two more key rules that will determine the fate of the future harvest. Then the vegetable will definitely take root and please you with strong fruits.
The first 2-3 weeks after transplantation, beets need a little more attention. Seedlings need to be watered regularly.
The soil should be moistened frequently, but in small portions. The frequency and intensity can be determined by the condition of the soil: it should be moistened to the depth of the beet roots.
For example, seedlings need to be watered once every 2 days, using 10 liters of water per 1 sq. m. At the stage of active growth, beets need to be watered 2-3 times a week.
Sometimes summer days are too hot. If beets are growing in a plot that is in the sun from morning to evening, it is worth considering installing a shelter, otherwise there is a risk that the root crop will get burnt.
