There are five nuances that are worth paying attention to if the honeysuckle blooms but does not bear fruit.

Honeysuckle is conquering summer cottages and garden plots, because its berries are extremely healthy.

The fruits of the bush contain:

  • ascorbic acid;
  • vitamins P, B1, B2;
  • folic acid;
  • macro- and microelements (potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, copper, etc.).

But it happens that gardeners lose their harvest. Bushes bloom, but do not bear fruit. Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told what to pay attention to in such a case.

Why honeysuckle does not bear fruit

1. The honeysuckle was planted too deep or too close to other plants. The plant is not getting enough sunlight and nutrients.

2. Lack of fertilizers. Nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus are the basis of a healthy bush that actively develops, blooms abundantly and produces a rich harvest.

3. Incorrect planting time. If honeysuckle was planted too early or too late, it may not bear fruit.

4. The plant is susceptible to diseases and pests that can prevent it from bearing fruit.

5. Incorrect watering. In this case, the plant does not have enough moisture. Honeysuckle likes regular watering. If honeysuckle does not get enough water, it may stop bearing fruit.
