Improving the usual methods of planting onion sets, farmers have developed an easy and simple method that summer residents will appreciate.
This is a tedious and tiresome task, especially if your back hurts. With this method, you will no longer have to bow to each bulb and you will be able to save a couple of hours of time.
In the old days, onion sets were planted on collective farms using seeders, which is somewhat reminiscent of the method described below.
Everything is extremely simple. We take a hoe and use it to make longitudinal furrows on the bed.
Then we take a watering can and water everything thoroughly.
Next, take a bag of onions and, moving along the bed and parallel to the furrows, throw the onions into the furrows, observing the required interval.
The method is not much different from planting potatoes under a plough or motor cultivator.
After sowing, take a hoe and carefully cover the seed onions with the turned-over soil.
The soil can be pressed down lightly to help the seeds settle into the moist soil.
Important: To ensure that onions grow and develop normally, leave at least 10 cm of free space between plantings.
