If you haven’t prepared your cabbage beds since autumn, now is the time to add a complex of microelements and organic matter.
In just a week, you will see that the cabbage has tightened, become fluffy and green.
After this, it is time to carry out the second feeding, which, according to experienced gardeners, is the most important for the vegetable.
The plantings should be watered thoroughly and nitrogen should be added to the watered soil on the same day.
The main thing in this matter is not to overdo it, as an excessive amount of nitrogen can provoke the appearance of clubroot.
Use the safest and most easily assimilated nitrogen for cabbage – ammonia.
For 10 liters of water you will need 3 tablespoons of ammonia. Under each bush you should pour 0.5 liters of the resulting solution.
Instead of ammonia, it is allowed to use ammonium nitrate. What cannot but please - one package weighing 1 kg will be enough for a couple of seasons (if the area of the garden is about 6 acres).
In this case, for the same volume of water of 10 liters, you will need 1 tablespoon of ammonium nitrate. The further actions are the same - you will need to pour 0.5 liters under each root.
