Why Pepper Seeds Refuse to Sprout: A Common Reason

Not all summer residents manage to successfully cope with such a task as growing seedlings.

Sometimes a “misfire” can occur at the very first stage – seed germination.

According to the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , pepper seeds retain their germination capacity for about 3-4 years.

If more time has passed, the storage conditions of the seed material have been violated, or you simply hear the voice of intuition, which tells you that something is wrong with the seeds, try to germinate a trial batch.

The procedure should be carried out 2 weeks before the start of mass sowing.

If the seeds do not sprout within 1-1.5 weeks, give up all hope and rush to the store for new ones.

But even in this case, when the seed material has just been purchased, it should be subjected to a thorough inspection.

If you want to be sure that the germination rate will be 100%, discard those seeds that have a different color from their fellows or are smaller in size than the rest.
