If you want your gooseberry harvest to make your neighbors envious, you should feed the bush five times in the first year after planting.
One plant will need three liters of organic infusions.
The first feeding is prepared as follows: add a liter jar of potato peelings to a bucket of boiling water, then wrap the container and wait until the temperature of the contents drops to 50 degrees.
After this, you should pour a glass of ash here. The still hot solution should be added at the beginning of April with the first awakening of the buds.
For the second feeding, you will need to prepare a liquid fertilizer based on grass with the addition of any manure.
The herbal infusion is also used during the period of berry setting – this is the third feeding.
In order to feed gooseberry bushes for the fourth time, after harvesting, it is worth preparing an infusion of one glass of vermicompost, infused in a bucket of water for 24 hours.
So we have come to the fifth feeding, which consists of two buckets of compost, which must be added under the bush in the fall, in October.
