How to care for raspberries with the onset of spring: rules of experienced gardeners

Caring for raspberries is not difficult in principle, but it is still worth following some rules.

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh reminds: immediately after all the snow on the site has melted, all fallen leaves from last year and other debris must be removed from the raspberry patch.

You should not ignore this recommendation, since plant debris may contain pathogenic microorganisms or insect pests that have successfully survived the winter and are ready for new attacks.

Another important detail is that since the semi-shrub needs support, in the spring it is worth tying the raspberry to the trellis.

At this point, the most difficult operations are over - only the everyday chores of weeding and watering remain.

Don't forget to also loosen the soil around the bushes to a shallow depth.

After carrying out this procedure, it is worth covering the raspberry patch with a layer of mulch.

Fertilizers containing nitrogen are suitable for spring feeding. To prepare the nutrient composition, add 1 shovel of mullein and 5 g of urea (can be replaced with saltpeter) to a 10-liter bucket of water.

This composition is used at the end of March – beginning of April.
