Damage to the tree bark for any reason can lead to the death of the plant.
To save the tree, the damaged area should be “healed” as quickly as possible.
This can be done in different ways. Today we will introduce you to one of them, which is called "village var".
To prepare it, you will need clay and fresh mullein. Both ingredients, taken in equal proportions, should be thoroughly mixed.
However, there is another recipe, a little more complicated: in this case, you will need to mix 2 parts fresh mullein, one part each of lime and wood ash, and 0.25 parts of sand.
Once the product is ready, be sure to first clean the affected area by removing dead bark with a sharp knife.
After this, treat the area with a 3% solution of copper sulfate.
The final stage will be the application of that very village var.
