After planting seedlings in open ground, you need to carefully monitor the weather so that seedlings that do not take root are not accidentally damaged by the cold.

Experienced gardeners have solved this problem for themselves and are not even afraid to leave their gardens for a long time in the spring. Here is what you need to add when transplanting seedlings.

The vermiculite substrate, which is added to the holes during planting, plays a protective function.

This natural material helps to retain not only moisture in the soil, but also heat.

It is used when planting tomato and cucumber seedlings, as well as when planting potatoes.

This rock contains magnesium oxide, iron, silicon and other useful substances.

Vermiculite is used when planting any plants, including indoor ones, especially when it is necessary to improve the soil structure.

In addition, the rock absorbs water well. Just 100 grams of the mineral can hold up to 530 ml of moisture. In case of drought, the plant will have an additional source of water when the gardener cannot water the plantings.

In addition to its ability to retain moisture and heat, vermiculite contains beneficial substances that prevent the spread of diseases.

When planting tomatoes and potatoes, it is recommended to add 2 tablespoons of the additive to the hole.

For cucumbers, two tablespoons are not enough, so the norm is doubled.
