During this period, flowers on the windowsill suffer from two problems: lack of moisture or its excess. In the first case, they forget about watering, and in the second situation, they water with a reserve.
If the soil is dry, a hard crust forms, the roots of the flower receive less oxygen. When the soil is constantly wet, mold appears, and midges circle above the pot.
To avoid these problems, gardeners do it very simply. Mulching is relevant not only for the garden and vegetable garden. The soil of indoor plants is also covered so that moisture evaporates more slowly.
For this purpose, for example, small pebbles, decorative stones or stone chips are used. If gardeners need to select a color for a certain interior, then aquarium soil is used. Among the numerous options, bark chips, perlite, and vermiculite are popular.
