Many summer residents are increasingly growing Chinese cabbage on their plots.

According to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , this process is not complicated, the main thing is to take care of effective protection from pests, otherwise you can say goodbye to your dreams of a good harvest.

The enemy of Chinese cabbage No. 1 is the cruciferous flea beetle. Fortunately, it can be easily discouraged from the beds where the parasite's tasty treat grows.

To do this, it is worth planting marigolds along the edge of the bed, which will repel pests and preserve the harvest.

However, before the marigolds grow, you can protect the beds with a mixture of equal parts ash, mustard and sand, which should be sprinkled on the cabbage beds.

By the way, marigolds are also able to effectively fight slugs.

But, as with the cruciferous flea beetle, it's worth taking care to combat slugs while the marigolds are still too small.

To do this, you should scatter large sawdust around the plants. Alternatively, use crushed eggshells or a mixture of red pepper and mustard powder.
