By default, or in the old-fashioned way, manure is added to potatoes, and for many gardeners there are simply no other options.

In fact, this vegetable responds positively to a variety of additives. But an excess of nutrients is harmful to it, as is the case with all fruit and vegetable crops.

What do potatoes like?

The first thing that comes to mind is organic supplements.

The rating is headed by rotted manure (in the amount of 200-250 grams per hole), followed by chicken droppings (but not fresh) - consumption of 1 liter for the same area.

A more advanced gardener sprinkles onion peels (1 handful per hole) or wood ash (150-200 g) into the holes.

Mineral fertilizers

Urea is used more often (25-30 grams per 10 liters of water). Consumption is 1 liter of solution per hole.

In this case, it is much easier to purchase complex fertilizers, but it is important to alternate additives from year to year, otherwise you can grow a crop with nitrates, especially without observing the dosage.

Popular misconception

Many people think that eggshells are not helpful in this matter, and this is completely in vain. This is a good fertilizer, and when using it, you can collect an exceptional harvest.

The main thing is to add properly prepared for storage shells, washed from films and dried. Sometimes they are baked in the oven. One handful of crushed shells is added to the hole.
