Plants affected by clubroot cannot be cured; it is better to immediately isolate them and dispose of them together with the soil lump, preferably by fire.

This disease is dangerous for all cruciferous plants, and after that you will have to take care of improving the soil. Here's how to do it in 5 steps.

Step one

Normalize the soil acidity, add slaked lime, which will not cause any harm even in the absence of a risk of fungal infection.

Step two

Avoid over-watering the soil. To do this, provide drainage in the beds or plant cruciferous plants in high beds. You can also avoid problems if you use drip irrigation.

Step three

Observe crop rotation. This is a surefire way to deal with diseases. But in the case of clubroot, you also need to watch out for weeds, which can act as a pathogen. After clubroot, cruciferous plants are planted in the same place no earlier than 6-7 years later, and it is better to do this after potatoes, cereals or greens, but not from the cruciferous family.

Step four

Be sure to clean up, burning diseased and suspicious plants. Also, do not follow the advice of advisers and leave stumps, leaves and other plant waste on the beds.

Step five

To combat clubroot, white or red-leaved mustard is sown in cleared soil. The shoots are dug up 2-3 weeks after emergence.

And finally, if the disease has manifested itself once, it makes sense to plant seeds resistant to the disease. This could be "Moskovskaya Pozdnyaya 15", "Podarok", "Parus", and from the hybrids "Tequila F1", "Kilaton F1".
