Gardeners have learned to use folk remedies instead of chemical fertilizers.

Any plant will appreciate natural fertilizer, and cabbage is no exception.

For cabbage, such a remedy will be considered ideal, it will protect the plant from pests and nourish it with useful substances, without which normal formation of heads of cabbage is impossible. We will talk about wood ash.

Why does cabbage need ash?

Wood ash is essential for fertilizing cabbage. It contains a lot of phosphorus and potassium and has the ability to neutralize excess soil acidity.

However, adding ash should be done with caution, otherwise the cabbage will react negatively to its excess.

Natural fertilizer helps reduce the risk of developing dangerous diseases and protects cabbage from pests.

Ash as a fertilizer for cabbage

For cabbage, choose the best and well-lit place on the plot. The beds should be located on a flat surface.

It is best to plant cabbage where potatoes, tomatoes, onions, peas, carrots and green manure were previously grown.

Cabbage will like to grow in loose, light and neutral soil.

To ensure that the cabbage grows strong and healthy and the harvest pleasantly surprises, small tricks are used when planting seedlings in open ground. And here is what needs to be done.

For each seedling, dig a small hole and throw 2 tablespoons of wood ash into the bottom. The advantage of this trick is that the ash will allow the plant to take root quickly.

In addition to ash, add 1 teaspoon of nitrophoska and 200 g of humus to the holes. Mix the components and water.

Now it's time for planting. The seedlings are taken out together with the soil lump and are lowered into the hole, covered with dry soil.

If the sun is hot, it is better to shade the seedlings so that they can grow stronger and not wither.

When planting cabbage, make sure that the growth point is not covered with soil, otherwise the plant will not survive and will die.
