Beginning gardeners do not yet know that an overdose of nutrients can be more harmful to plants than a deficiency.

While supporters of mineral supplements are protected from mistakes by the presence of instructions, fans of organics often make mistakes, and fatal ones at that.

Here are the additives that garlic does not tolerate and does not forgive gardeners.

Don't get carried away with ash

The season will end with a poor harvest for this crop if you decide to add wood ash to the soil immediately before planting the cloves.

In this case, it would be correct to talk not about a mistake, but about sabotage. Garlic may simply not sprout if you just take and pour this fertilizer into furrows or holes.

To fertilize the soil with ash in a garlic bed, it will need to be thoroughly mixed with the soil in a 1:1 ratio. After that, the mixture is covered with river sand (1 tbsp.), and then the cloves are placed.

But it would be better to scatter the ashes on the snow.

Green infusion

Garlic (like onions) does not tolerate nettle infusion well. It drives plants into an arrow, on which a flower stalk appears, taking away strength and nutrients.

And lastly, in the later stages, garlic will not benefit from additional feeding with manure and bird droppings.
