If we talk about cabbage, where the whole base is used as food, then you really don't want to treat it with chemicals. But what to do if slugs attack?

In this case, two time-tested remedies that can be found in any kitchen will help.

Mustard powder

An excellent option for combating delicate but nasty slugs is hot mustard, which is ideally used together with ammonia.

Another great option is a mixture of mustard powder and hot red pepper. It is enough to powder the leaves and the ground around the fork with this composition and not a single pest will sneak up on it.

Coffee

Another product that any housewife can find even at her dacha is coffee. Both instant and ground coffee will do. It is only important to brew the drink stronger and, after it cools down, spray the cabbage bed.

In this case, the gastropods will be scared away by the smell of coffee alone, and in order to prevent the parasites from getting into the garden bed itself, you will have to scatter used coffee around the plants.

As for fighting slugs with salt, this method is effective, but the soil and the crops growing on it suffer from salt.
