In order for raspberry bushes to bear fruit well every year, they need to be constantly fed.

Signs of a deficiency of useful elements in a plant:

  • Nitrogen deficiency can be identified by weak lower leaves;
  • if there is not enough phosphorus in a raspberry bush, the leaves turn crimson and red;
  • A lack of potassium is indicated by rotten leaves at the edges.

Natural soil fertilization

To do this, you can sow green manure crops next to the raspberries. The application of specific fertilizer will depend on the type of soil. Sandy soils often require constant fertilizer.

Mineral fertilizer

The soil under the raspberry should be fed with a complex fertilizer with mandatory content of phosphorus and potassium:

  • in autumn, shake superphosphate under the raspberry bush - 50-60 grams per 1 m2;
  • potassium magnesium sulfate in the amount of 20-30 grams per 1 m2 will help to survive the harsh winter and prevent infection with diseases;
  • take 4 kg of rotted humus per 1 m2 - this will enrich the soil with nitrogen.

Organic fertilizer

After fruiting, at the end of summer, apply a fertilizer containing nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus and calcium.

Recipes from experienced gardeners

They recommend using only natural remedies.

  • Banana peel, which contains a lot of potassium. Pour 10 liters of water over the peel of 10 bananas and let it brew, then water the raspberry bushes with this infusion.
  • Dissolve 10 grams of live yeast and 100 grams of sugar in 10 liters of warm water.
  • Infuse 50 grams of onion peel in 10 liters of water for 7 days.
  • In 10 liters of water, infuse 500 grams of fresh nettle and 500 grams of comfrey. Use to strengthen the plant's immunity and improve its growth.
  • Prepare a fertilizer based on chicken manure - 2 liters, manure - 3 kg, nettle grass - 1 kg and wood ash - 0.25 kg, soak all this in 20 liters of water.

Combined feeding

The most convenient way to feed plants is with a complex of minerals and vitamins. Mix 5 kg of rotted humus with 30 g of potassium chloride and 50 g of superphosphate. Pour into a furrow dug around the bush and cover with soil afterwards.

During the summer, feed the raspberry bushes with this mixture:

  • potassium salt - 40 grams;
  • superphosphate - 60 grams;
  • ammonium nitrate - 30 grams;
  • Dissolve everything in 10 liters of water and water the raspberry bushes with this solution.

However, you cannot feed with all fertilizers at once.
