Why experienced gardeners value soda: all the ways to use baking powder
For some gardeners and vegetable growers, multifunctional soda is a real panacea.
Thus, sodium bicarbonate has proven itself as an excellent means for the prevention of numerous diseases.
To remove powdery mildew from plantings, simply dilute 5 tablespoons of soda in a 10-liter bucket of water and spray the plantings (the temperature of the liquid should not exceed +55 degrees).
You can also spray tomatoes with a baking soda solution a couple of weeks after planting them in the ground. This treatment should be repeated every week and a half, and late blight will not be a problem.
If caterpillars are your concern, add grated laundry soap and up to 10 tablespoons of ash to the prepared ash-based solution.
This preparation should be used for spraying insect-infested crops. The procedure should be carried out twice a day for 4-7 days – in the morning and in the evening.
Finally, soda can act as a fertilizer, for example, for cucumbers. In this case, you will need to dilute 2 tablespoons of baking powder in 10 liters of warm water and water the cucumber beds on damp soil. One liter of the mixture is enough for one plant.
Important: when using soda on the site, you must follow all the rules, otherwise the sodium in its composition can lead to diseases, and in some cases, to the death of plants.
