Since eggplants are heat-loving vegetables that have a long growing season, it is necessary to take care of sowing seeds for seedlings.

As the expert of the online publication Belnovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh said, this should be done no later than the beginning of March.

In the meantime, you can start preparing the soil.

As you know, to get a good harvest of eggplants, you should use loose soil.

Vegetables like slightly acidic or neutral soil, so a pH level of 5.5-7.5 is recommended.

If you decide to prepare the soil yourself, you will need to mix one part of river sand, four parts of peat and three parts of humus, and then add another 200 g of wood ash.

Another option is a mixture consisting of eight parts compost, two parts turf and one part rotted cow dung.

Don't forget about other preparatory activities, including disinfecting seedling boxes and soaking seeds.
