What doesn't grow on a summer cottage plot. From fruit trees to conifers and from berries to the most common toadstools. Moreover, mushrooms can start growing anywhere - on the lawn, in the garden and even in the greenhouse.
We'll tell you what you can do here and what to think about before trampling on the toadstool.
If the mushrooms are inedible, there is nothing good about their appearance and there cannot be anything good in the future. Most often, they appear where old wood rots, or the spores were brought in with imported soil or fertilizers.
One circumstance should definitely be considered as a positive sign. Mushrooms do not grow in poor soil, devoid of organic matter and humus. But that's all.
If mushrooms have appeared in the garden, then it is worth thinking about the acidity of the soil. Most likely, the pH balance is approaching critical, which vegetable crops will not like. You can get rid of mushrooms in the garden by adding ash, dolomite flour or lime. But this is not enough.
It is possible that the mycelium has already formed in the soil and in order to eliminate it, the cause will have to be eliminated. It is possible that the soil contains rotting plant remains, stumps, wood waste, etc. Work begins in the fall or early spring.
In particularly severe cases, you will have to remove 10-15 cm of soil to a depth and dig up the area with the addition of ash or dolomite.
If the growth has appeared in hard-to-reach places, it will be easier to sprinkle the mycelium with salt.
