Not all gardeners, especially beginners, know the rules according to which it is necessary to water the geranium, which is loved by many.

An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told what should be taken into account when moistening the soil in pots with pelargonium.

So, you should never forget that the flower does not like abundant watering.

The situation can be described by the expression “Better under-watered than over-watered”: the plant will feel more comfortable with a lack of moisture than with an excess of it.

The regime itself depends on what season it is outside.

So, in spring, summer and autumn, when the geranium begins to bloom abundantly, it is worth watering it every day, but in small portions. It is necessary to get rid of excess water that ended up in the trays.

You should only take up the watering can if the top layer of soil has dried out. You can tell that you have overdone it with watering by the yellowed leaves.

During the winter months, the frequency of watering should be reduced to twice a week.
