The slimming patch is a self-adhesive bandage with caffeine, capsaicin or other active ingredients.
The manufacturers of this product claim that its use leads to fat burning, skin tightening, cellulite elimination, removal of excess water and toxins, and even a decrease in appetite.
Is this really true?
Ingredients such as the above mentioned caffeine, capsaicin, as well as catechins, green tea extract and others do indeed promote weight loss as they can speed up metabolism and thus increase weight loss.
Only this effect will manifest itself if you take dietary supplements orally.
But there is simply no evidence that caffeine or catechins reduce fat deposits at the site of application. Even so, scientists doubt that topical agents can combat fat deposits.
Local fat removal can be done using lipolytics, cryolipolysis, ultrasound, etc.
But patches are not able to destroy fat cells, which makes their effectiveness questionable.
For reference
Weight loss is a reduction in the body mass of a living human organism.
