A constant feeling of hunger may indicate a dangerous chronic disease.
Russian nutritionist Elena Solomatina warned about this.
She named the reasons for her insatiable appetite in a conversation with Vechernyaya Moskva .
As Solomatina explained, the cause of insatiable appetite may be hormonal imbalance.
The hormone leptin, which is responsible for satiety, the nutritionist continued, is produced in fat cells.
If a person is overweight, too much leptin is produced.
Because of this, the brain “hears” it worse – the receptors become dulled, the expert explained.
Also, an insatiable appetite may indicate problems with the hormone insulin, which controls blood glucose levels.
If constant hunger is accompanied by a craving for sweets, this may indicate the development of diabetes.
To combat constant hunger, you need to eat fiber-rich foods at every meal. Non-starchy and green vegetables are especially helpful.
Solomatina also recommended drinking enough water and getting enough sleep.
