How Kombucha Helps in Weight Loss: Important – This Method Is Not Suitable for Everyone

It turns out that the yeast and bacteria in kombucha can trigger the same metabolic reactions that occur in the body during fasting.

This conclusion was made by scientists studying the effect of kombucha on metabolism. The study was published in the journal PLOS Genetics, and the "guinea pig" was the microscopic roundworm nematode C.elegans.

According to the results of the scientific work, probiotics contained in kombucha influence the expression of genes associated with fat metabolism in nematodes.

As a result, a change in metabolism occurs – the amount of proteins that break down fats increases.

This led the researchers to suggest that drinking kombucha could help reduce the number of fat cells in the body without changing diet or portion sizes.

Scientist Rob Dowen of the University of North Carolina reported that probiotic microorganisms from kombucha were able to colonize the guts of worms and cause a metabolic response similar to starvation, despite the fact that the test animals did not have problems absorbing nutrients.

Researchers have found that kombucha fermentation products create new metabolic pathways in nematodes.

Doctors note that although kombucha is rich in probiotics and antioxidants, the drink can cause side effects in some people, such as upset stomach and allergic reactions.

Pregnant women, nursing mothers and people with weakened immune systems are advised to refrain from drinking kombucha.
