“You don’t even suspect that your cozy gray interior is slowly killing your psyche!
Architectural Digest magazine has called the trend a "ticking time bomb," and neuropsychologists are calling for it to be banned in living spaces.
Why a trendy shade has become the biggest mistake of 2024 — and how to escape its influence? Gray, which has dominated interiors for the past five years, turned out to be more dangerous than it seemed.
A study by the Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Sciences showed that people living in grey rooms are 30% more likely to suffer from apathy and anxiety.
“Cool shades suppress the production of serotonin, especially in conditions of insufficient light,” explains psychologist Maria Sokolova.
But why do designers continue to recommend it? Decorator Anton Belov admits:
"It's a commercial move. Gray masks wall defects and is universal for photos - but no one warns about the consequences."
Replace gray with warm analogs - sand, terracotta, soft beige.
Elle Decoration magazine conducted an experiment: 50 volunteers lived in rooms with a "warm" palette for a month. The result: 80% of participants noted an improvement in mood and productivity.
“After repainting the walls peach, I finally stopped taking antidepressants,” shares Olga from Moscow.
"Designers are already removing grey from their portfolios. Hurry up to repaint your walls before fashion turns your home into a cage for the blues!"
