How to Peel a Pomelo: The Classic Method

To remove the thick skin from the pomelo and get rid of the white film, you will need a sharp knife and some free time.

How to make peeling a fruit take just a couple of minutes, was explained by the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova.

The classic way

First of all, you should rinse the fruit, after which you can place it on its side on a cutting board.

Now, using a knife, cut off the skin on the top and bottom of the fruit.

After this, using the same knife, you will need to make longitudinal cuts along the entire length of the peel, crosswise.

For very large fruits, the number of cuts can be doubled to end up with eight “petal” pieces.

That's it, actually - remove the pieces of skin from the pomelo with your hands. You can be sure that they will easily separate from the pulp.

Finally, you will need to remove the remaining white film and break the pomelo into slices.
