How to cook pollock deliciously: a light and healthy dish for dinner

Pollock is one of the most affordable sea fish. It is best cooked with vegetables.

If you stew it with carrots and onions, you will get a hearty and light dish that can be served for both lunch and dinner.

Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova - a cook, fourth-class baker told how to cook.

You will need:

  • pollock 500 g;
  • carrots 2 pcs;
  • onion 1 pc;
  • flour 3-4 tbsp;
  • vegetable oil;
  • salt and pepper to taste.

How to cook

1. The fish needs to be cleaned of fins and all unnecessary parts, cut into portions. The fillet can be cooked whole or cut as you like.

2. Salt the fish, bread it in flour, fry it over medium heat in vegetable oil for 4-5 minutes on each side and place it on a plate.

3. Cut the peeled onion into cubes or half rings, grate the carrots on a coarse grater. Fry the onion, and when it becomes translucent, add the carrots.

4. After 5-7 minutes, add the fish to the frying pan with the fried vegetables, cover with a lid and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.

You can add some tomato paste or sour cream to your taste. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice. Enjoy!

Pollock is a marine fish that lives in cold waters and prefers depths of 200 to 300 meters. It can dive to depths of 500-700 meters, lives 15-16 years.
