The country did not immediately learn that the Olivier salad, beloved by all Soviet citizens, was far from the original recipe. Something similar happened with the most popular apple pie recipe.
Now any housewife can find both an original recipe and ingredients for cooking a dish. But it was precisely in the era of shortages that no less delicious treats were born.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova - a cook, fourth-class baker told how Soviet housewives prepared Charlotte.
1. Wash and core the apples (preferably the Antonovka variety) and cut into slices.
2. In a bowl, beat the eggs with sugar until you get a fluffy, homogeneous mass.
3. Sift the flour, mix and add the soda, having previously quenched it with table vinegar. Mix.
4. Grease the baking dish with margarine (but no one forbids you to use butter for this) and place the apples in it.
5. Pour the finished dough into the pan and bake the pie in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Enjoy!
