Avocado is a tasty and healthy fruit (yes, not a vegetable) that is often used in cooking.

However, those people who do not live in sunny Brazil or another region where you can pick a ripe avocado straight from the branch have to make do with the selection at their local supermarket, which often sells clearly unripe fruits.

Of course, in such a situation, as the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova, says, you can wait a couple of days until the fruit itself reaches the desired condition

Or you can use an unusual life hack and make an avocado ripen in 10 minutes.

How to speed up the ripening of avocados

The first thing you need to do is get some food foil and wrap the avocado in it.

After this, place the fruit in a baking dish and put it in the oven, which should have been preheated to 93 degrees. The heat will help speed up the ripening process.

The avocado should be left in the oven for 10 minutes, then removed and allowed to cool.

Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit – now the fruit is ready to eat.

True, this method has one drawback: although the fruit becomes very soft, it acquires the smell of roasted chestnuts, and its taste may differ from what you expect.
