Mashed potatoes are extremely popular among gourmets.
And there is nothing surprising about this: the dish is appetizing, very filling and goes well with meat and vegetables.
But mashed potatoes have a serious drawback: preparing the dish usually takes a lot of time.
However, one little trick can significantly speed up the process.
An expert of the online publication Belnovosti in the field of cooking, chef, and fourth-class baker Yulia Arkhipova told about an interesting life hack with butter.
Perhaps the longest stage of creating the dish is boiling the potatoes.
The process can be sped up. First, cut the peeled tuber into small pieces, put them in a saucepan and pour water (so that it only covers the potato pieces: there should not be a lot of liquid).
The peeled and chopped vegetable should sit in cold water for 5 minutes.
Next, you need to put the pan on the stove, turn on the burner and throw a piece of butter into the pan.
The fatty product will melt quickly and create a film on the surface of the liquid, thanks to which the potatoes will be ready very quickly. Perhaps in 8-10 minutes.
Next, the boiled potatoes will need to be “processed” with a masher, mixed with milk and an additional portion of butter.
This is the fastest way to make puree.
