Soup cooked over a fire is an ideal dish for those who are going on a hike or relaxing in the country.

Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova , told how to prepare a rich meat broth with vegetables outdoors so that it turns out tastier than the first one served in a good restaurant.

Outdoor soups are often cooked in a cauldron, since its round shape allows the ingredients to heat evenly and not burn.

The long simmering process makes the meat tender and the vegetables soft and “soaked” in broth.

To ensure that the dish turns out perfect, you should also follow other important rules.

1. Campfire soup, we repeat, is prepared by simmering, so be prepared for the process to take from two to two and a half hours, depending on the amount of ingredients and the size of the cauldron.

2. If you want to get a truly tasty and aromatic dish from a cauldron, use fresh products for its preparation instead of frozen ones.

3. Cut meat and vegetables into large pieces so that they do not turn into mush during the simmering process. Potatoes, onions and carrots can be added whole.

4. Remember to adjust the heat while cooking so that the vegetables and meat simmer slowly in the broth and do not burn.

5. Be sure to use spices and herbs – this could be garlic, dill, parsley, cilantro, basil and other spices.
