Freezing is an excellent way to help preserve the freshness and quality of meat for a long time.

But, as the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova , reminds, each type of meat can be stored frozen for a certain period of time.

Chicken

Chicken meat can be stored in the freezer for 9 to 12 months. The shelf life depends on the temperature in the freezer and the quality of the meat. The lower the temperature in the chamber, the longer the meat will retain its properties.

Important: After defrosting, use the meat immediately – refreezing will not do it any good.

Beef

Beef can be stored in the freezer for 12 to 18 months, but storing it for too long will cause the meat to lose its flavor.

For this reason, it is recommended to use beef within the first year after freezing.

Pork

The shelf life of frozen pork is about 6-8 months. As in the previous cases, the texture of the meat may change during storage, especially if it has not been properly processed before storage.

Once defrosted, pork can usually be stored for about 1-2 days.
