It is not always possible to cook rice without it turning into mush.
Yulia Arkhipova, an expert in the field of cooking, a chef and fourth-class baker from the online publication Belnovosti, tells us what needs to be done to make rice crumbly, like in a restaurant.
You will need 200 grams of rice, two tablespoons of olive or coconut oil and 0.5 teaspoon of salt.
Rinse the rice three or four times until the water becomes clear.
Throw the rice into a sieve to drain the water. Then heat a little oil in a saucepan, add the rice and fry it for two to three minutes.
Next, pour water over the rice (in a ratio of 1:2) and place on high heat for two to three minutes.
When almost all the water has been absorbed, reduce the heat to low, cover the pan with a lid and cook for another 15-20 minutes.
