To prevent vermicelli from sticking together, from overcooking, and to keep it firm inside, you need to know a few secrets.
Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova, shared several clever methods that will help avoid problems with the preparation of this side dish.
1. Use the right amount of water
Of course, you can just pour water into a pot and bring it to a boil, then throw in the noodles, but this is far from the best method.
Instead, follow the recommendations regarding the optimal amount of water to use for cooking noodles - for 100 g of pasta you will need 1 liter of water.
2. Fry the vermicelli before cooking.
Before cooking, you can lightly fry the vermicelli in a frying pan. This will help it, firstly, to retain its shape and not to boil over, and secondly, frying will give the vermicelli a pleasant golden color.
3. Add oil to the pan
If you don't want to bother with frying the noodles, you can simply add a spoonful of vegetable oil to the pan after the water boils.
This will help prevent the noodles from sticking together and ensure that they have the perfect texture.
