Mashed potatoes are usually eaten as a side dish.
Thus, the dish often serves as a complement to meat.
However, puree can easily be turned into a complete and independent dish.
It is enough to replace butter with another product - and the dish will become filling, nutritious and have a bright aroma.
First, you need to boil the potatoes. The water left in the pan after the vegetables are cooked should not be poured into the sink. The liquid should be poured into another container and mixed with milk.
The boiled and dried potatoes need to be “processed” using a masher.
Add a couple of tablespoons of cottage cheese to the resulting mass. This product is the very alternative to butter.
You can use processed cheese instead of cottage cheese. Any of these products will make the puree tender and very tasty.
The potato-cheese mixture must be combined with the previously created combination of milk and broth.
The result is an incredibly filling dish that can be eaten without meat.
Earlier we named a common mistake that causes mashed potatoes to turn into “glue.”
