How to cook jellied fish: a traditional New Year's dish

Dishes from Soviet times still often appear on holiday tables.

Such treats have become traditional. They are tasty, aromatic and decorate tables perfectly. Another plus is that they are quite easy to prepare.

How to cook jellied fish

You can use carp for cooking. The fish should be scaled and gutted. Then the carcass should be cut into portions.

The head, tail and fins should be put aside.

Gelatin should be soaked in warm water and left until it swells.

Heat water in a saucepan, add peeled onion and fish set (head, fins and tail). Also add allspice, bay leaf and salt. These components will improve the taste.

Once the liquid boils, it should be kept on the fire for about 5 minutes. Then you can put in the fish pieces and cook them for about 20 minutes on medium heat.

The fish should be placed in a deep bowl. You can put carrot and lemon pieces on top. The dish can also be decorated with fresh herbs and cranberries.

The broth should be strained and mixed with gelatin. The liquid mass should be poured into the main product. After this, the dish should be placed in the refrigerator until it hardens completely.
