The first thing you should do with the gooseberries that you are going to store is to carefully examine the fruits.

You can only store for future use those berries whose health and ripeness you have no doubt about.

If you leave gooseberries in the refrigerator, they will easily last up to 5 days. This period increases to 8-10 days if unripe fruits were sent for storage.

However, this period cannot yet be called a record – gooseberries can be preserved much longer by placing them in the freezer.

True, in this case it is worth preparing the berries for long-term storage in sub-zero temperatures.

1. Wash the berries and leave them to dry, spreading them out on a paper or cloth towel.

2. When there are no drops of water left on the gooseberries, place them on a tray (can be replaced with a cutting board) in one layer and put them in the freezer for 3 hours.

3. After the specified time, the fruits can be transferred to a container or a zip-lock bag. After such simple manipulations, you can be sure that the berries will not stick together.
