A new culinary take on a familiar side dish.
Puree is usually prepared according to one well-known recipe, supplementing it with milk or butter.
In Holland they also love mashed potatoes, but their recipe is significantly different, and the dish itself is called stamppot.
To improve the taste of the side dish, add two vegetables and herbs.
The list of ingredients consists of:
1. The peeled tubers should be divided into 4 parts and placed in a saucepan.
2. Add grated carrots and chopped onions. Pour water over the vegetables and cook for about 30 minutes.
3. Mix vegetable and butter in a frying pan and heat it up.
4. Finely chop the parsley and fry in a preheated frying pan until soft.
5. When the potatoes, carrots and onions are cooked, drain the water and mash them into a puree, adding herbs and cream. Then add salt and pepper to the garnish to taste.
