Unfortunately, not all pasta packages will tell you how long they need to be in water to reach the done state.
That's why we decided to put together a little cheat sheet that would indicate the cooking time for all types of pasta.
So, the spaghetti that many people love can be considered ready after just 8 minutes.
Conchiglie, which are better known as “shells,” are cooked for 10 minutes, and farfalle, or bows, for 8 minutes.
Spirals, which the Italians call fusilli, take 11 minutes, while capelli are ready in 3 minutes.
If you decide to make a side dish from penne, that is, feathers, cook them for 10 minutes.
For all other types, including fettuccine, linguine, tagliatelle and pappardelle, the cooking time is 8 minutes.
The only exception is macaroni (fluted tubes), which should be cooked for one minute less – 7 minutes.
