Not all products can and should be washed before cooking. Sometimes unnecessary actions are performed automatically, without paying attention to it.

But you should know that this minor oversight affects the taste of the finished dishes.

Bird and fish

Chicken and fish are not washed before cooking. Thus, fighting bacteria is useless and even pointless. The same applies to beef, pork and other red meat. In addition, excess moisture spoils the taste of the finished dish.

If you do have to wash the food, don’t forget to dry it in paper towels.

Mushrooms

Washing mushrooms, especially store-bought ones, is also a dubious idea. You won't be able to wash off the bacteria, but considering how quickly mushrooms absorb water, you can seriously spoil the dish. If these are champignons, many housewives simply clean them.

Greens from the store

When the packaging with greens is marked as cleaned, then re-washing is not necessary. It is a different matter when greens are bought at the market and it is not known in what conditions they were stored.

Eggs

Chicken eggs are washed immediately before cooking. There is a natural protective layer on the surface of the shell, and if it is washed off, the product will not be able to be stored for a long time even in the refrigerator.
