How to make "penny" soup: a recipe that has remained since Soviet times

It's not often that you can find decent dishes that don't contain expensive ingredients.

Therefore, this recipe is rather an exception to the rule, because we are talking about a delicious sprat soup in tomato sauce.

To prepare it you will need:

  • 2 cans of fish preserves;
  • 3-4 potatoes;
  • 1 onion;
  • 1 carrot;
  • salt and ground black pepper – to taste;
  • a small bunch of dill (can be replaced with dried).

So, first, put a pot filled with water on the fire and calmly work on the other ingredients.

The onion should be finely chopped, and the carrots should be grated. Peeled potatoes should be cut into pieces of any shape.

After the water boils, add carrots and onions, and after the vegetables have boiled for about 5 minutes, feel free to add the potatoes.

10 minutes after the potatoes are almost ready, add the canned food to the future soup.

Don't forget to add salt and black pepper. Dill is added to the plates just before serving.
