Oil is the most important ingredient in the kitchen, as we cook a huge number of dishes with it.

For this reason, the product must always be of high quality.

However, sometimes some housewives encounter the fact that vegetable oil begins to foam during cooking and has a bitter taste.

What could this be connected with?

Bitterness

If we are talking about regular refined vegetable oil, then bitterness is evidence that it is better not to use the product. Bitterness appears only if the oil has already gone rancid.

Sometimes an unpleasant taste is due to the fact that the oil was stored incorrectly even in the store. If the product is exposed to sunlight, it begins to taste bitter. Therefore, high-quality oil is sold in dark glass bottles.

Bitterness may be an indication that you have left the oil unopened for too long.

But if olive oil is bitter, you don’t need to worry. On the contrary, it means that you have a high-quality product in front of you.

Foam

High-quality oil should not foam when frying. This often happens to housewives who accidentally start frying in unrefined oil. Such a product cannot withstand high heat treatment.

Therefore, use the unrefined product only for salads.

But refined oil foams if it is already spoiled. However, it is worth knowing that foam sometimes does not indicate that the oil cannot be used. If you washed the frying pan immediately before cooking and then forgot to dry it properly, foam will appear that is in no way related to the quality of the oil.
