Air humidifier for children: tips for practical use

Air humidity is extremely important for systems that are constantly in contact with air, that is, for the skin and mucous membranes (nose and throat).

If you want to protect your child from flaky, cracked and inflamed skin, as well as help his body fight infection, pediatricians recommend purchasing a humidifier.

Some tips for using a humidifier

Pediatricians recommend choosing between an ultrasonic or traditional humidifier. The first option is suitable from birth, while the second should be purchased if the child suffers from recurrent atopic dermatitis or chronic non-allergic rhinitis.

It is not enough to simply buy the device – you should carefully read the operating instructions, especially the part that lists the features of care and handling of the device.

Do not forget that filters should be changed in a timely manner: on average, once every 2-3 months (for an ultrasonic humidifier).

If a lot of mucus forms in the nose the first time after turning on the device, do not worry, this is normal, since the respiratory tract is not yet accustomed to this level of humidity.

You should not add fragrances and essential oils to the humidifier - due to the fact that these compounds do not always meet safety criteria, allergies may occur.

Keep the humidifier on at all times when the outside temperature drops below +10 degrees.
