"Calm down quickly!", "Stop crying immediately!"
Many parents automatically say these phrases when their children start to misbehave, scream or cry.
But you need to understand that such remarks rarely help achieve the desired effect.
On the contrary, in most situations, the demand of mom and dad to calm down immediately makes the baby scream or worry even more.
The fact that she doesn’t give her child the opportunity to express his emotions.
It turns out that parents do not come to the aid of the child, but begin to make claims against him.
This disappoints the child. An already psychologically difficult situation becomes even more stressful for him.
Therefore, it is not surprising that after the demands of mom and dad the child does not calm down, but, on the contrary, begins to make even more noise.
Parents can act in the following way: approach the child, hug him, stroke his head. It makes sense to say the phrase: "I understand you!"
If we are talking about a serious child's tantrum, mom and dad should say any of the following phrases: "Look at me," "Let's go outside: you can cry there so strangers don't see," or "Try to breathe slowly and calmly."
In this way, parents will demonstrate their willingness to help the child psychologically. The baby will feel much better.
