Whether parents instill their habits in their children or children adopt them themselves is a separate question.

The main thing is to understand what habits, interests or behavior patterns should not be extended to children for their own good. First of all, this concerns health and nutrition.

Scientists have found that vegan diets have a negative impact on children's development.

Veganism and Children. Scientifically Proven

An international group of scientists from University College London and the Institute of Child Health in Warsaw have proven the negative impact of veganism on children's development.

It has been found that compared to children who eat normally, vegan children are three centimeters shorter than their peers.

Moreover, their bodies are three times more likely to develop deficiencies of iron, vitamin D and B12.

Research details

A total of 187 children aged 5-10 years took part in the studies. Of these, 63 children were raised by vegetarian parents, and 52 by vegans.

Vegans and vegetarians followed this diet for 5-6 years.

The researchers studied height, weight, heart function and vascular health. The data was then compared with that of omnivorous children.

Verdict of scientists

Scientists have diagnosed problems in children of vegans and vegetarians:

  • with growth;
  • with bone tissue (fragility);
  • risk of iron, vitamin D and B12 deficiency;
  • risk of developing osteoporosis and fractures.

One of the benefits of this diet was that children had a 25% reduction in their “bad” cholesterol levels.

The amount of body fat was also lower, and the risk of developing cardiovascular disease was lower.

Earlier it became known why it is necessary to treat baby teeth from caries .
